Home Remedy for Treating an Ingrown Toenail!
Sometimes, our nails can grow sideways even if they are trimmed constantly.
When this happens, the skin and pores across the ingrown fingernail become red and inflamed. This problem can be very painful and remove the nail by yourself is not the best option, because this way you are increasing the chance of getting an infection.
We recommend you to try a natural remedy which is considered to be the best solution to treat an ingrown toenail.
If you follow these tips you will not need surgical intervention.
This homemade herbal, antiseptic cream cleanses the area and has a calming effect.
Ingredients:
- 1 drop of oregano essential oil
- 2 drops of mint essential oil
- 5 drops of eucalyptus essential oil
- 5 drops of tea tree oil
- 5 drops of lavender essential oil
- 60 ml of coconut oil
- 60 ml of Aloe Vera Gel
Instructions:
First, you need to melt the coconut oil in a microwave. Then, you need to mix it with the Aloe Vera gel. After that, add the essential oils. Now, transfer the mixture to a mason jar and keep it in cool and dry place.
You can use the mixture to rub the area every night, before going to bed. Don’t forget that you need to massage the area gently. You should repeat this treatment every night. But, be sure that the solution penetrates the skin. When you feel that the pain has stopped and when you see that the nail separates easily, cut it out.
The essential oils have potent anti-inflammatory potential. This makes them an effective solution to fight off infections because they will speed up the healing process too.
Epsom salt
Epsom salt is very helpful for treating this unpleasant condition. Just pour boiled water into a bowl and add an antibacterial soap and some Epsom salt. Then, soak your feet in it. This method will soften the area. When you feel the pain reduces, cut out the ingrown nail.
